Injury

In Dark Future, taking damage will eventually result gaining an Injury. Each stack of this status inhibits your ability to heal damage using Health Items.

A percentage of all damage taken contributes to gaining an Injury. When enough damage has been taken, a stack of Injury is added.

The Injury status is cured by using Trauma Kits (was Health Booster) purchasable at Medpoints and found throughout the game.

Developer's Note: As the game progresses, your total Health increases, and the total amount of damage you take also increases. For this reason, Injury tracks the percentage of damage taken, not the points of damage taken.

If points were tracked, you would paradoxically become injured more often as your level increased.

This also means that Trauma Kits and AssKick (Health booster consumables) indirectly cause you to become injured less often because your total Health is increased, reducing the percentage of Health lost for each attack suffered.

The Injury status can be configured or disabled in .
